Hammers to pay 30 million fine

Sheffield United will receive compensation over the Carlos Tevez affair, the south Yorkshire were relegated in a dramatic end to the 2006/07 season. An inspiring Tevez helped West Ham beat Manchester United on the final day therefore Sheffield were relegated.




West Ham were fined a record of 5.5 million after fielding Tevez and Mascherano who were under third party ownership. Sheffield failed in there bid to win back there premiership status so they turned their attention to financial settlement.




A football association has ruled in favour of Sheffield United and the club will receive a sum of money of about 30 million from West Ham.
