Manchester City are set to make a shock 50 million bid for Liverpool ace Fernando Torres.

City are determined to bring top players to their club and the latest man to be linked with the blues is Torres, Mark Hughes has stated he would love to see the former Atletico Madrid man at The City of Manchester stadium.

Torres only signed for Liverpool at the start of the 2007-08 season for a club record of £20 million. The 24 year old had a great season in his first year at Anfield scoring 24 league goals and also played a major role for Spain in securing the UEFA Euro 2008 and was named in the team of the tournament alongside strike partner David Villa. This season so far has been a disappointment to El Nino due to a series of injuries.

It is said that Torres will stay faithfull to the Reds but who knows what will happen if your offered £300,000 a week.
